Tanzania is a home of more than 120 ethnic groups, finds itself having the crucial potentiality of organizing and conducting cultural tourism. Due to its peaceful, humble, harmonious and self-esteemed people, it’s easier to collaborate with local residents to form different cultural tourism enterprises (cultural tourism programs) without conflict among people.
Cultural tours can be half day excursions or customized to longer stays for a couple of days among local people in their home villages and towns. Depending on how much time you have and interest, you can choose to embark on boat ride down a river or raw on one of the many lakes while listening to hair-raising legendary tales. Paddle between mangroves. And sail with the fishermen to pristine sandy islands of Indian Ocean, Lake Nyasa and Lake Victoria. Meet the “Hadza” hunter-gather remaining communities in Lake Eyasi and Yaeda valleys or spend part of your holiday with friendly inhabitants of Tanzania’s “Switzerland” while hiking through the Usambara Mountains. Admire ancient irrigation systems- or today’s craftsmanship. Listen to a traditional healer’s diagnostic methods and obtain the correct remedial prescriptions

Itinerary
Day 1 Moshi – Tarangire National Park – Karatu
After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel and together with your guide you drive to Tarangire National Park.
The national park, which emerged from a colonial hunting reserve in 1970, is still very original and has a varied wildlife. The heart of the park, which has roughly the size of Luxembourg, is the Tarangire River. Sometimes many elephants can be seen here. You can also observe many other species of animals in the park, such as giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, impalas, grant gazelles, warthogs or baboons. With some luck you will spot lions, cheetahs or leopards. The park has a very diverse landscape and also impresses with its giant baobab trees, in the surroundings mostly many animals can be found.
After a long game drive you continue to the small town of Karatu, which lies on the outer edge of the Ngorongoro Crater. Here you will stay overnight in a simple but cozy lodge. You should go to bed early, because you leave for Lake Eyasi shortly after sunrise.

Day 2 Karatu – Lake Eyasi – Moshi
After an early breakfast (around 6.30 am) you will drive to Lake Eyasi, the journey takes just over an hour.
The Hadzabe Bushmen are the last true hunter-gatherers in East Africa, around the lake live about 700-800 tribesmen in small groups. The Hadzabe live almost the same way as our own ancestors in the Stone Age. They hunt animals with bow and arrow and collect fruits, roots and honey from the baobab trees. After a welcome and an insight into the village life, it goes with some men on a common hunting. The hunt takes place at a fairly fast pace, especially when an animal is spotted. The Hadzabe hunt antelopes and gazelles, but also smaller animals such as birds or mongooses.
In the late morning you will visit then the Datoga tribe. These pastoralists are also skilled blacksmiths. They collect metal scrap, which they cleverly process into bracelets, arrowheads and knives. You also have the opportunity to visit one of the huts in the village. Here you can watch the women how they grind flour from corn, from which later bread is baked.
Visiting the crawl and milking
Milking in Maasai people is done by the ladies, our guests are free to join them to learn how to milk local masai cow. The guests will be guided by the lady who is in charge of milking the cows. The cows are milked in a local way as the hind legs are tired with the rope
Story telling
The elders are the ones that are in charge of telling their life time stories. This is one of the interesting times during your Maasai tour. You will learn more about details of the tribe, their family inheritance and background. They tell you on their daily wellbeing and the way of adaptation to stay with the wildlife together. This seems to be a miracle as many people fear wildlife yet the maasai make them their friends including lions.
Other activities done during the Maasai tour include nature walks, learn how to do local hunting, making of local houses using local materials like cow dung, grass, and others. Don’t miss this lifetime experience on the Maasai cultural tour. Book Cultural Tourism in Tanzania
